This polyptych originates from a single watercolor prototype.
The original image is divided into 36 autonomous watercolor units, each existing as an individual fragment while remaining structurally linked to the whole.
Every unit is fixed to a weight of 11 grams.
The polyptych therefore establishes a total indexed weight of 396 grams:
36 watercolor units × 11 grams.
Each unit is aligned with the live price of gold per gram. Its value is not assigned, but indexed continuously, without interpretation.
No transformation occurs in the material itself. The paper remains paper. Yet, under the condition of exposure to light, to measure, to the present a shift takes place.
The watercolor does not become gold. It is brought into equivalence with it.
What is revealed is what can be measured. What is measured acquires weight. What acquires weight enters value.
Each unit remains autonomous. Together, they form a structured whole: 36 units, 396 grams, one aggregated value.
The image persists, but it is no longer central. The work operates simultaneously as image, surface, and valuation system.
At any given moment, the polyptych reflects a strict parity with 396 grams of gold. It does not interpret, it does not project. It responds.
Confirmation defines ownership.
The transaction finalizes the work.
